How to generate random teams

Enter one player per line, then choose the number of teams or the maximum players allowed per team. Click Generate teams to assign every player once. You can copy the results or download them as a text file.

If two players share a name, use labels such as Alex A and Alex B.

What happens when players do not divide evenly?

Team sizes differ by at most one player. For example, seven players divided into two teams produce groups of four and three.

Choosing a maximum of three players per team creates three groups: three, two and two. The maximum is a limit, so some teams may have fewer players.

Are random teams balanced by skill?

No. Random allocation does not consider experience, age or playing ability. If skill balance matters, agree on captains or another balancing method before starting.

Player names stay in the current tab and are not saved by this tool. Copy or download your teams before closing the page.
