Plan your game installations using the free space available on your PC or console. Enter game sizes and a free-space reserve to see whether everything fits and how much storage remains.
Game Storage Calculator
Plan install space using your own game sizes and available drive space.
Plan space for your next installations
Enter the free storage currently shown by your PC or console. Choose how much space you want to keep unused, then enter each planned game installation’s size on a separate line.
Use the same unit for every value. The calculator labels inputs as GB; do not mix GB and GiB figures without converting them first.
Example storage calculation
Suppose your device has 500 GB free. You want to reserve 50 GB and install three games:
| Planned installation | Size |
|---|---|
| Game A | 80 GB |
| Game B | 125.5 GB |
| Game C | 42 GB |
| Total | 247.5 GB |
The calculation is:
500 − 50 − 247.5 = 202.5 GB remaining
This is the space available after the planned installations while preserving your chosen reserve. If the result is a shortfall, remove an installation from your plan or free additional space.
Which storage figures should I enter?
Use your device’s currently available space rather than the drive’s advertised capacity. For games, enter the space required for the installation you are planning. Download size and installed size may differ.
Include any DLC or language packs you intend to install. If a game is already installed, do not count its existing size again—the free-space figure already reflects that installation.
Allow room for updates
This tool adds the sizes you provide. It does not predict future patches, temporary installation files or operating-system requirements.
There is no single reserve that fits every device and game. Check installation requirements and adjust your reserve accordingly.
To organize the games you plan to install, use the Game Backlog Tracker.
